Rooms & rentals with SundayBooking
Live: SundayBooking is live at booking.sundaysuite.app and free to use. It lives inside the SundayPlan family — same Sunday account, same church.
SundayBooking manages internal rooms, external rentals and appointment bookings in one calendar where overlaps are structurally impossible — set-up and clean-up time included. Staff approve requests; members and renters ask through a link, with no account needed. Here is how to set it up.
1. Sign in
Open booking.sundaysuite.app and sign in with your Sunday account. SundayBooking shares its account and church with SundayPlan, so if your church exists in one, it exists in the other.
2. Define rooms and resources
Set up the spaces and things people book: the main hall, the kitchen, meeting rooms, the projector, the minibus. Define event types with their own rules, and bundle resources so booking the hall can book the chairs and the kitchen along with it — once, not as three separate requests.
3. How requests come in
Staff and trusted volunteers book directly in the calendar. Everyone else — members and external renters — asks through a link: they pick a time, describe what they need, and get a personal magic-link status page to follow their request. No account, no password, no phone tag.
4. The approval queue
Requests land in a queue where staff approve or decline. If a slot is taken, SundayBooking suggests alternatives instead of just saying no. You can also see "someone is asking about this time right now" as it happens, so two planners don't chase the same evening.
Why a double-booking can't happen
This is the part spreadsheets can't promise: every booking goes through an atomic database check that locks the resources and rejects any overlap on the effective time range — rig time and clean-up buffers included. The wedding and the choir rehearsal can never land on the same room. It isn't caught by someone paying attention; it's rejected by construction.
Calendars out, insight in
Subscribe to any room's calendar as an ICS feed in the calendar app you already use, and watch the utilisation dashboard fill in — which spaces earn their keep, and which evenings stand empty.
